Through the Accreditatioon Platform, the International Accreditation Forum signatories bodies (less than 40 countries) an MLA between approximetely 40 countries, providing mutual confidence, and the acceptance of accredited certificates of registration. The MLA helps in reducing the need for suppliers of products or services to carry a certificate of registration in each country where they operate or sell products and services as applies for QMS and EMS only.

Individual members that are signatories to the MLA are subject to peer evaluations. The purpose of evaluation is to verify the signatories' continuing conformity with the internationally accepted criteria ISO 17011 and thus maintain an acceptable level of consistency.
